Epworth United Methodist

The 19th annual Epworth Church Children’s Gift Making party will be held Dec. 8, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with a pizza lunch. It’s a time for children ages 3 to 12 to make 10 handcrafted gifts to give during the holiday season. The cost for each child to attend is $5, and each is asked to bring along a photo of themselves that is no larger than 4 inches-by-4 inches.

Children need to be registered by Dec. 1.

Call the church office at 412-486-1454 to register.

The church is located at 1300 Burchfield Road, Allison Park.

St. Catherine of Sweden Parish

Saint Catherine of Sweden Parish on Wildwood Road in Hampton Township will celebrate the Christmas season with the Annual “One Night in Bethlehem” family night on Dec. 14.

The parish social hall is transformed into the marketplace of Bethlehem where families with children ages 2-10 visit the shops and stalls to create a variety of Christmas crafts, play games at the “Bethlehem Game Stop,” win prizes at the “Candy Cane” pull and listen to Christmas stories in the stalls of the Book Barn. Cake and punch are served at Jesus’ Birthday Party.

There will be a Christmas stocking auction, treats at the Angel’s Bakery and olive wood treasures imported from Bethlehem. The evening concludes with an outdoor living nativity scene, complete with live animals and cast of biblical characters.

Tickets are $6 per child and are available in the parish office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or at www.stcatherineofsweden.org. Attendance is limited to the first 150 children registered. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is free for adults and children under 2 with a donation of a baby item to benefit Lifeline of Southwestern PA.
