The Hydref - a Fall Festival and Market Faire, will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Depreciation Lands Museum.

Meet skilled 18th century crafts people, re-enactors, and “sutlers.” Enjoy entertainment, demonstrations, live music, food and activities for the children.

There will be a children’s contest. Make an Apple Head doll at home and bring it to Hydref for the Best Apple Head Contest. Awards will be in two categories, ages 5-9 and 10-17.

Hydref, which means “autumn” in Welsh, was named to commemorate the Welsh heritage of early settlers.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children, and Depreciation Lands Museum members are free.

For more information, e-mail the museum or call 412-486-0563 and leave a message.

• Family Lantern Tours will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 and 26 with tours ongoing from 6 to 9 p.m.

Tours depart every 10 minutes; allow 1 hour for your tour. Tours continue regardless of weather.

Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for children under 12.
