Hampton second-graders take part in Checkpoint Charlie program to promote safety

At Poff, Wyland and Central Elementary Schools, Carl Good, the school resource officer, annually does a program called Checkpoint Charlie with second graders. The program is geared toward helping children live safe lives by learning some important rules to follow. The program also included a coloring contest. Prizes for the coloring contest were donated by the township police and local businesses and included: Hampton Township Jr. Police T-shirt, $5 Bruster’s gift card, Vocelli’s Pizza Gift package, a police badge, and pencil holder case.

The winners were: Aimee Chuang, Abigail Deah and Charlotte Mazzoni, from Wyland Elementary; John Locke, Henry Kaintz and Rilee Hartle, from Central Elementary; and Gwen Okerberg, Abigail Postava and Taylor DiCaprio, from Poff Elementary.
