The Hydref Festival and Market Faire will be held at the Depreciation Lands Museum in Hampton on Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors can meet a cast of characters including the blacksmith, school marm or master at the one-room school house, a settler, and hunter to name a few, playing out a historical role.
The event will feature live music, food, shopping and activities for children, including games and toys played in that time period. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. DLM members can attend free of charge.
Also, there’s a raffle drawing for a woolen scarf, hand spun right at site, according to the museum website. There will also be demonstrations and other entertainment fitting for that time period.
The museum is located at 4723 S. Pioneer Road, Allison Park.
The Hampton Alliance for Educational Excellence (HAEE) will host the 27th annual 5K run/1-mile walk Oct. 5, at Hartwood Acres. Registrations are now being accepted.
This is the main fundraiser for the HAEE, a nonprofit organization providing grants to Hampton Township School District faculty and staff for unique educational programs within the district. Event details and online registration information can be found on the HAEE website at hampton alliance.org.
