Jacob Colwell of Hampton earned Boy Scouting’s highest rank when he successfully completed the Eagle Scout Board of Review on December 4, 2019. The son of Jen & Rege Colwell, Jacob led a team of youth and adult volunteers to build over 100 feet of bog bridges at Glade Run Lake in Valencia. The bridges both preserve the wetlands and make the trails more accessible to bird watchers and other lake visitors as well as preserve vital habitat for wetland creatures.
A senior at Hampton High School who will graduate with highest honors, Colwell has his sights set on a degree in Engineering, exploring several colleges that will best suit his needs. He credits his time and leadership opportunities in Scouting as well as other outside activities as what drives him to pursue Engineering as a way to help others.
