Weekend happenings: Friendship Dinner on tap in Allison Park

A Friendship Dinner will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church, 4517 Mt. Royal Blvd., Allison Park, on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 5 p.m. All are welcome. Enjoy turkey and all the fixings. Dinner is free. A donation for charity will be accepted.

Fall Fashion Show, Luncheon

St. Richard Ladies Group is hosting a Fall Fashion Show and Luncheon on Nov. 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Richard Church Social Hall, 3841 Dickey Road, in Richland.

Fashions will be provided by Treasure House Fashions. Treasure House Fashions is a nonprofit, quality women’s resale clothing shop with a tender heart. The sale of deeply discounted merchandise to any shopper provides 73% of their operating revenue. Your purchase enables them to accomplish their mission of providing clothing for women in transition or crisis through 60 agencies.There will be a 50-50 raffle, Chinese auction and prizes. Tickets are $15 per person.

Family Heirlooms Appraisal Fair

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, there will be a Family Heirlooms Appraisal Fair at Shaler North Hills Library.

Pull out those family treasures you’ve always wanted to know more about and have them looked at by expert appraisers. Experts on collectibles, glass, pottery, historic items and more will be on hand to help assess your treasured item and give advice on how to better care for and conduct research on your items.

There is a fee of $5 for each item appraised or 3 for $12. No more than 3 items per person. Money raised supports children’s programs at the library. Registration is requested.

Breakfast Buffet

The Guatemala Mission Group of St. Richard’s Church will be hosting a complete breakfast buffet on Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Social Hall at the church, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Free will donations will go to help an orphanage in Patzun, Guatemala, the Hogar de Ninos de San Francisco, that the group supports.
