There is a new “sensory walk” at Wyland Elementary, located outside the first-grade classrooms, which will be open to all students. The purpose is to give students the opportunity to move throughout the day as part of the school’s “brain breaks” so they can concentrate better on their school work. The sensory walk also is great for helping students to improve their coordination and gross motor skills.

First-grade teachers Susan Rothmeyer and Joanne Greer did most of the work of creating the sensory walk, with some help from staff members Dainen Holler and Lisa Burns.
